(John Szczepanowski owner HYS)
What I have learned through my own personal journey is that I've been very blessed to have great mentors guide me along the way. Their passions and experiences sparked my passion for what I do now. My commitment is to pay it forward, to learn from all of those wonderful experiences and share them with my veterans and citizens of my community.
I am also co-founder and public affairs director for 03XX Foundation, a 501c3 that aids and assists Marines Infantrymen (03) and Navy Corpsmen 8404-8412 with real time veteran solutions.
As an ACE-certified personal trainer and licenced Strong by Zumba instructor, I am passionate about helping clients of all abilities achieve higher levels of fitness and athletic performance. Several years ago, I lost over 80 pounds and set out on a mission to single-handedly transform my body from obese to athletic. In this transformation, many have reached out to me to tell me that I have inspired them to change. These recurring inquiries pushed me towards becoming a fitness professional. I knew I had something to offer beyond my education and certifications; I had experienced the struggle first hand and could help others overcome great obstacles. I could teach people to believe that it is possible because I lived it. In my journey to fitness I have consistently implemented 3 main elements: cardio endurance, strength training, and mobility stretching through yoga. As a result, I have maintained a healthy weight and enjoy continued training and long-distance trail running injury free. Join me in one of my CycleFusion, Hot Yoga Fusion, or Strong by Zumba classes and find out what you are capable of!

Originally from Poland, Darek moved to Chicago then eventually to San Diego in 2013. He started practicing yoga in 2010 and became certified in 2016. Darek is a passionate teacher that always combines the "zen factor" with the "sore tomorrow factor."
And now... a poem written by Darek:
"Strength, balance & stretch combined with binding & twisting Gives you an intense workout that's empowering & uplifting.
I focus on alignment once target muscles are selected And you begin to realize you are stronger than expected.
Developing that core strength could not be any sweeter And all sessions are conducted with the addition of a heater."
Naem is originally from Thailand, moved to the United States her my family in 2006. After a year and a half here she was diagnosed with Lupus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus). It was a big change in her life, "my body was no longer the way it used to be", everyday tasks that once I could do without an effort became a challenge, chronic fatigue and pain were my way of life.
On a Christmas day 2008 I took my first yoga class with my sister-in-law and I have never stopped since then. Yoga became my passion and I found myself practicing it all the time. I maintained my dedication to the practice of yoga even throughout my pregnancy. Yoga has made me stronger physically and mentally, and I love to share my experience with others. I would love to see other people receive the benefits of yoga like I have. In the summer of 2013 I finished 200 hours of yoga teacher training from the La Jolla Yoga Center, so I can pursue my dream of sharing with others.
Yoga tames my life...Namaste
Growing up I rode horses and my parents did tris for fun. When I got older, I started running and when I injured myself, I took a Spin class. I was hooked! I figured, if I can ride a bike and I can run as long as I don't drown I can do a triathlon! So I did! And I won my age division on my first triathlon. It was the beginning of the rest of my life. I have now been competing competitively in triathlon for over ten years. I have tackled all distances, including one Ironman, but my favorite distance is half Ironman. I have placed on the podium in every Sprint, Olympic and International distance to date. I do it to be better. I do it for my kids. I do it because it's a moving meditation and a commitment to myself. I do it because I believe that it's a CHOICE to be an athlete. You aren't born an athlete. You train to be an athlete.
I have taught Spin for as long as I have been doing triathlons. I enjoy every aspect of Spin: the workout, mentally and physically, the community, the energy, how you feel the rest of the day. My classes are for everyone. You can be an 80 year old woman, sitting next to a professional cyclist and you will both get exactly what you need from my class. Spin has gotten me through everything, including cancer and pregnancy. You can do Spin no matter who you are or where you are coming from! I am a mom of three, and I have two dogs, and one cat. I enjoy gardening, yoga, baking, and eating! Spin that (pun intended) however you'd like! But that's my story.
My Name is Nicole Messina, I am a mother and a wife. I love to cook, photograph children and families, and trying new foods. Once I went through my yoga teacher training in 2016, I instantly knew my learning journey about this amazing culture was not over. I am currently in my second year of obtaining my Masters of science degree in Ayurveda, which is a sister science of yoga. I have been teaching yoga for over two years and have been practicing for more than 15. I love health and wellness and have a desire to share that passion with anyone who will listen.
My yoga journey has drastically changed my life for the better. I started practicing yoga as a teenager and haven't looked back since. My greatest passion is allowing yoga to be accessible to everyone. I'm a firm believer that anyone can do yoga! As a yoga teacher, I love building a strong teacher-student relationship and offering as many variations and modifications as possible. Everyone's yoga journey is their own. A little bit about me: I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and have been regularly practicing yoga for almost 7 years now. I'm also a recent graduate of UC San Diego and received my degree in Clinical Psychology. I plan to pursue a career in mental healthcare!
